This summer’s convention was transformed into a whole new experience under the convention theme C1 Xperience. C1Xowill offered an accelerated agenda with impactful speakers, focused networking and an all-new C1XPO exhibit hall experience. Throughout C1X, Carpet One Floor & Home members focused on the power of supporting core cooperative programs; the difference a strong commitment to customers can make; and the keys to converting more leads to sales.
Members learned how a renewed focus on core products and programs offered through Carpet One Floor & Home will help keep their businesses fueled for success. The new C1XPO floor layout had a smaller overall footprint, but offers more space dedicated to showcasing all displays and products that members should be taking advantage of.

He shared how simple and small changes in your attitude and the way you approach daily challenges can make a big impact.
John Venhuizen is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ace Hardware Corporation. Venhuizen, 45, is a 22-year veteran of Ace. Venhuizen joined Ace within the marketing department in 1992. He has since, worked his way up through the company. Members heard more about his career and initiatives at Ace. They learned from key lessons from one of the country’s largest retail cooperatives.
Col. Nicole Malachowski (USAF, ret.)
A 21-year veteran of the United States Air Force, Colonel Nicole Malachowski (USAF, Ret.) wanted to fly military jets from the moment she saw them at her first air show when she was five years old. She achieved that goal – and then some. A leader, a combat veteran, the first woman pilot on the Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squadron, an instructor, a White House Fellow, and an inductee into the Women in Aviation International Pioneer Hall of Fame, Nicole’s Air Force career exceeded her wildest dreams.
